It's exactly what it sounds like; a top number ranking of YouTube channels based on statistics collected within a given time frame. Powered by clips from the reality TV show Bigg Boss, an Indian YouTube channel made a significant climb in our latest ranking of the top 50 most-viewed YouTube channels of the week across the globe. It is another company based in the populous South Asian nation, however, that continues to be the Big Boss of this chart, as it has been since the calendar turned over to 2021. Chart Toppers T-Series is this close to topping one billion weekly views for the first time. The Indian record label, which has ruled our global top 50 for much of the past year, was #1 once again in our latest worldwide ranking. Its seven-day total of 991.8 million weekly views represents its all-time high-water mark as well as a week-over-week viewership increase of 9%. However, only the #2 channel in this week's global top 50, Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes, can boast about receiving one billion YouTube views in a single week. Since accomplishing that feat last year, the kid-friendly American channel has seen its viewership decline a bit, but its latest total of 718.4 million weekly views is still an astonishing figure. This week's global top five featured no changes from the order we saw last week. SET India is still the #3 YouTube channel in the world; in our latest count, the Sony-owned archive of TV clips added 643 million weekly views to its lifetime total. That was enough to maintain a comfortable lead over fourth-place finisher Like Nastya. The Russian-American family vlog is the second most-watched channel in its home nation, thanks to its 517.1 million weekly views. Sony SAB rounded out our unchanged global top five. The Indian TV channel, known for its comedy programming, amassed 503.7 million weekly views in our latest count. Top Gainers If you follow this chart week in and week out, you'll have a chance to learn about TV shows that are popular across the world — and especially in South Asia. In India, one of the hottest shows of the moment is Bigg Boss, a Big Brother localization that airs on the Kerala-based Asianet channel. The third season of Bigg Boss began on Valentine's Day, and it has since brought big (or should I say "bigg") viewership to its broadcaster's official YouTube channel. In our latest global ranking, Asianet ranked 32nd, making a dramatic jump into the top 50 after finishing 71st the week prior. The channels total traffic included 150.2 million weekly views, a week-over-week viewership increase of 51%, and 90,000 new subscribers. Unless you speak the regional language of Malayalam (which is spoken predominantly in Asianet's home region of Kerala), good luck figuring out what's going down on Bigg Boss season three. But based on the number of cry-laughing emoji in the comment sections of these clips, it seems as if the new episodes have been quite juicy indeed. Canada, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and United Kingdom: 2 channels in the Top 50.
