Landlord fixes leak, Mesa renter gets running water after Republic investigation - The Arizona Republic

(Photo: Sean Logan/The Republic) Mesa renter Linda Jones, who ran up more than $2,000 in water bills and couldn't flush her toilet or wash dishes regularly because of a leak her landlord refused to fix, said the landlord sent a plumber to repair the underground pipe the day after The Arizona Republic reported on the situation. Jones and her son, who lives with her, had resorted to purchasing jugs of water for cooking, using a coin laundry and taking quick showers every morning that would cause a stream from the broken pipe to bubble up through cracks in the driveway and flood the street. When Jones' granddaughter came to visit, they explained she only could flush once a day. Jones contacted The Republic's #HereToHelpAZ program to investigate.
