Websites set up for residents to report flood damage and to apply disaster grants - KTIV Siouxland's News Channel
SPENCER, Iowa (KTIV) - A relief website has been announced for residents to self-report damaged property. Due to the waters not yet receding, the State Assistance Grant Program has been approved for several. This grant program comes through Gov. Kim Reynolds' disaster proclamation. Those who have property damage could receive up to $5,000 in assistance and repairs for lost items. Upper Des Moines Opportunity operates the program. The state says applicants must be under 200% of the federal property level to qualify. Applications can be found on the websites for Upper Des Moines Opportunity and Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management. Disaster proclamations were activated for Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Humboldt, O'Brien, Osceola, Palo Alto, Pocahontas, Webster and Wright counties for the severe weather damages from May 6, May 20, May 31, June 3 and June 12 and June 22.
