MACOMB COUNTY — Belfor, a disaster restoration company, honored first responders during Heroes Night at the United Shore Professional Baseball game Aug. 5 at Jimmy John's Field in Utica.
At the start of the baseball game, Belfor CEO Sheldon Yellen threw out the first pitch and thanked and saluted all first responders in attendance.
Many first responders, including Sterling Heights Fire Chief Kevin Edmond; Sterling Heights Assistant Fire Chief Ed Miller; Warren Happell, the EMS coordinator for the Shelby Township Fire Department; and Macomb Township Deputy Chief Adam Munro attended the game that night.
Happell said he was honored to be among the first responders who work to keep each of the communities safe.
"I was honored to stand alongside many first responders who work hand in hand with our department and township to keep our communities safe. We appreciate the support and shows of gratitude from Belfor and all of the fans at Heroes Night," he said via email.
Belfor Property Restoration will continue to show its support for first responders by sponsoring Heroes Night with the United Shore Professional Baseball League.
"Working alongside first responders regularly, we appreciate their selfless commitment to keeping their communities safe and were proud to honor them on Heroes Night at the United Shore Professional Baseball League game — and every day throughout the year," Yellen said in an email.
Miller appreciated the honor during the game.
"I'm incredibly grateful for Belfor's ongoing support of first responders like myself and my department. And they don't just say they're committed — they show it through their actions, both big and small. Responding to emergency situations is never easy, but we are proud to be there for our communities in good times and bad — and to do so alongside Belfor," he said via email.
