SD flood victims asked to submit damage assessment of property - KELOLAND.com

SOUTH DAKOTA (KELO) — People in South Dakota that have experienced flood damage to their property or business are being asked to submit damage assessments, stated the South Dakota Office of Emergency Management (OEM).

In an effort to show a need for federal assistance due to the flooding, counties need property owners to self-report damage assessments.

The data may be used in an effort to get a Presidential Disaster Declaration.

The form asks for personal information such as: location, building description, contact information, assessment, occupancy status and other damage. You can also download photos on this form.

For more information, instructions and form.

This form does not ask personal information such as bank information. If you receive communication requesting this information do not give this out as it could be a scam. Report it to the South Dakota Attorney General's Office.
